Searching for an Alternative Medicine for Snoring
|
|
It's
quite possible to go online or down to your local pharmacy and start shopping
for solutions to your snoring problem. You might find all sorts of devices and
appliances and elixirs that promise to help eliminate snoring. But what if you're searching for an alternative
medicine for snoring? Is there anything
that's natural and safe as an alternative to the harsh chemicals that many
never hesitate to put into their body?
Luckily there are actually one or two options that you can try and that
are readily available. Some are not even
advertised as an alternative medicine for snoring, which is why you may not
have even realized what they were! But
we can help; we've found some elements that work very well for most who have
tried them, and we'll also point out some other options you have when it comes
to snoring.
Marjoram as an Alternative
Medicine for Snoring
Marjoram
is a substance that is usually sold in oil or gel form and comes in a small
jar. Usually you would use this as an alternative
medicine for snoring if you leave the jar open by your bed at night. The very pleasant aromas and vapors fill the
air of the room and help to unclog your sinuses and nasal passages. The reason that this works is because when
your sinuses and nasal passages are clogged, you are going to start breathing
through your mouth. When you breathe
through your mouth you just naturally dry up the tissues and membranes in your
throat. This is what causes
snoring. That dry tissue then vibrates
and makes the noise we call snoring. So
while you may not have ever thought of marjoram as an alternative medicine for
snoring, look for a jar of it at your health food store or pharmacy. Remember, you don't ingest it or rub it on
yourself; you simply unscrew the lid of the jar and let the aroma fill the
room.
Menthol and
Eucalyptus
Menthol
and eucalyptus are two other elements that you may not have thought of as an alternative
medicine for snoring, but they work much the same way that marjoram does. The vapors in these substances help to clear
the sinuses and the nasal passages. You
can add some of this oil to a warm mist vaporizer in your bedroom or rub some
on your upper lip or your chest. You can
also purchase some as a rub and if this is too strong for you, you can use it
the way you would the marjoram. Simply
unscrew the lid from the jar and let the vapors fill the room. Either of these works as a great alternative
medicine for snoring because they don't interfere with other medicines you may
be taking and are not strong enough to irritate your nose or throat the way
some medicines might.
Acupuncture as an Alternative
Medicine for Snoring
There
is and may always be controversy surrounding the practice of acupuncture as
some say that it works wonders for a myriad of conditions and other say that it
is only a placebo and merely suggestive.
However, there are many who really aren't concerned with whether or not
it has scientific basis or is actually doing anything to their body; all
they're concerned about is that fact that is seems successful as an alternative
medicine for snoring. Some believe that
it helps to relax the body, including the throat and sinus passages, and
thereby cuts down on the incidences of snoring.
Whatever the case, it seems to be as successful as any other remedy or
treatment.
