The Best Snoring Problems Products

If you're someone who snores constantly, or are trying to get some sleep next to someone who does, you may be wondering about the available snoring problems products that are on the market today.  Thankfully, there are many that can help with this problem, both over the counter at your local pharmacy or from your doctor.  Snoring problems products can help you breathe better, take pressure off your sinus cavities and respiratory system, and alleviate other health issues that are caused by chronic sleeplessness.  And remember when considering whether or not to try some of these snoring problems products that snoring is something that doesn't just affect you – the person in the bed next to you may be suffering some serious health problems because of it as well.

The Snore Pillow

One of the most commonly used snoring problems products on the market today is a type of snoring pillow.  There are many brands and varieties available, but most work in pretty much the same way.  Made of a firmer foam than regular down pillows, these snore pillows keep the head and neck elevated properly so that the mouth does not fall open and you are able to breathe through your nose.  These pillows are usually very inexpensive and come in a variety of sizes, so if you're used to having a large pillow that you can curl up with, you won't be losing your enjoyment of sleeping with one of these.

Of all the snoring problems products on the market, the snore pillow seems to be the one that most people try, and most have success with.  It is a minor change that you can make to try to stop your snoring, and worst case scenario, if it doesn't work, you have an extra pillow in the house.

Mouth Guards

Another common snoring problems product that people try are different type of mouth guards.  Like snore pillows, these are made under a variety of names, however, many people also find it helpful to speak to their dentist or doctor for a recommendation for themselves personally, so they can find the best fit and comfort.

The mouth guards work by pushing the tongue and jaw forward, not allowing it to rest against the back of the throat.  This too keeps the air passages open and makes it easier to breathe.  They may sound somewhat clumsy, but many people have reported that these types of snoring problems products are actually very comfortable and that it's easy to forget that you're even wearing them.  And because you mouth and jaw learn to align themselves properly, you may be able to discontinue their use after some time.

If you don't care to speak to your dentist or doctor, most mouth guards that are available online and in your local pharmacy will fit correctly and do the trick. They too are usually very affordable.

Snoring Problem Products in the Form of Sprays and Inhalers

One of the most common reasons for snoring is a very dry throat and dry nasal passages.  This causes your mouth and throat to make a lot of noise as air passes over the membranes in the back of your throat and your nose.  You may even notice this when it gets dry outside, such as during winter months, that you're breathing is much louder and scratchier.  So, snoring problems products that add moisture to the back of the throat and the nose are often used to relieve this.  Sprays for the throat, inhalers, all of these products work by clearing the air passages and coating the membranes.

When purchasing these types of snoring problems products, you do want to find those that are advertised as non habit forming.  Some of the narcotics in these products were so strong that people actually reported a slight high when using them and a slight addiction to them!  Most are now made with lower doses of medicines to alleviate this problem, but do double-check anyway.  And if you do select sprays or inhalers as your snoring problem product, you might also notice that it has a tendency to clear your sinuses overall, helping you to breathe better even throughout the day.  Some are even safe for children.

Serious Snoring Problem Products

When your snoring is very serious, there are some medical devices available from your doctor that can help, but are usually meant for those who are snoring because they have difficulty breathing overall.  This may be those who have sleep apnea, which is when you actually stop breathing momentarily during the night.  A CPAP, which is like an oxygen mask that fits over the nose and face during the night, is one such snoring problem product.  If you are someone that has been prescribed the use of a CPAP machine, do not stop using it at night even if you notice that your snoring has gone away, unless you've spoken to your doctor first.

Medical Intervention

Sometimes there are no snoring problem products that you can use to cure your snoring, and in this case, medical intervention is recommended.  There are many treatment options your doctor can recommend and many minor surgeries that can be done on an outpatient basis.  Most have reported great success with these.  Additionally, your doctor can accurately diagnosis the root cause of your snoring and make a recommendation from there.  It may be that a lifestyle change, such as smoking cessation or weight loss, will be necessary and will be the cure for your smoking.  If this is the case, the chances are that no snoring problem products will help and you will need to make the changes recommended by your doctor.  But considering the many health problems that are related to snoring and a lack of sleep, it would be well worth your time to investigate all your options.  Remember that there are many who suffer from this same problem, which is why all these snoring problem products are available in the first place!
